eco-dog park

the eco dog park - a first in Galapagos

The need for an eco - dog park arises since the arrival of the new municipal rules for dogs and cats in Isabela. The ordinance establishes beaches as pet free zones, in order to protect the endemic species like marine iguanas, sea lions, lava lizards, finches and other animals.

As the beach is no longer accessible, the Eco Dog Park is the perfect alternative for the community to bring their dogs for walks and recreation.

concept: The park will be built with bioconstruction principles, with the help of local architechs, using locally sourced materials like invasive wood species (guayabo and cedrela), rock and bambu.

rewilding: The park will host endemic species like mangrove, manzanillo, opuntias and native species like coconut palms.
